"Who doesn’t love big, crunchy, fresh salads during the hot months of summer? I certainly do. And lucky for me, the early CSA season is abundant with all manner of greens each week, ranging from Chinese cabbage to kale to lettuce. However, while these veggies are all delicious, I’m sure we have all experienced at one point or another that they can be difficult to thoroughly wash and dry.

That is where the salad spinner comes into play! I was lucky enough to be introduced to this magical little appliance by Laura last summer, and I encourage anyone who gets impatient with salad greens to buy one. The instructions are simple and are listed in the Salad Spinner manual, but here is the basic idea:
1) Wash your greens as thoroughly as possible.
2) Chop them however you want.
3) Insert the green basket into the larger Salad Spinner bowl, and place the greens in the basket.
4) Place the lid onto the bowl, and push down the pump several times to “spin” your salad.
Just like that, the greens are dry! And the best part is, you can just rinse the excess water from the large bowl and use it as a serving dish!" Until next time... Justine
