Salad Spinner - The Best Investment for your CSA Kitchen

There are plenty of gadgets out there for your kitchen and I have many of them.  One of the best items I can recommend for all your kitchens at the start of the CSA season is a salad spinner. We will be getting plenty of greens of all types throughout the next 20 weeks and you will find it the best tool for cleaning and drying before storing.

Here is a link to an article comparing the Top Five Salad Spinners which you might find useful.  I have had cheap and cheerful ones to the one I own now that is from the Pampered Chef.  This may appear pricey at first glance but it does also help dry your berries as well.  It is now five years old and as good as new.

I must remind you that your produce is FRESH FROM THE FARM. This means the shapes may not be absolutely perfect and yes there may be some dirt. Don't worry we don't charge extra for any dirt you bring home! Having said that the flavor of your vegetables will be totally awesome as they will have only have just been picked.

Here's another excellent option for a salad spinner: Zyliss makes them in two sizes. I've had the larger one for well over 10 years, and the smaller one for at least 5 years. Both are great. And Page Hardware & Appliance right here in Guilford carries them!
